Music Scores

How to work on Music Scores from Home like Professionals do?

When the lockdown period arrived, musicians had to adapt and work their skills from home. Although there were some who had a studio in their house before, the group of musicians practicing on music scores from their home, has grown a lot. Here is what professionals do that you can learn from in the matter.

1. Use an App Online

Chaos is great to help us find new ways to go about our business. That is pretty much what happened, two years ago, when the coronavirus invited itself in most countries around the world. Suddenly all musical shows were interrupted, since no one could go out. Because it is not good for a musician to spend too long without practicing its instrument, they had to find ways to keep working at their trade.

One of the solutions that they found, was to use an app called metronautapp.com, where they could play music sheet, accompanied by a piano or an orchestra already provided on it. Playing by yourself or with other musicians is not the same. The latter needs you to keep the tempo and to follow the others. That is why this app was so great for them. Even if you are not a professional, you can do the same and use this app in order to help you learn how to play with others. You can even change the tempo so that you get better at it. And if it helps, just sing along with the tune!

2. Play with others through video conferencing

Now, that is not the easiest solution. But if you have friends that are also musicians, preferably at the same level of knowledge that you have, then playing music sheets with them online can be a great way to practice. Again, we cannot insist sufficiently on the need to play with others, if you want top get better at your trade. Playing solo is great at the beginning. But to become a solid player, you need to join others and play songs with them.

When you use an app, as mentioned above, the beauty of it is that the band will always be on time. Therefore, you will only have to follow them. Playing with others is much more complicated. In a rock band, for example, if you are the bassist, you will become the central element, on which others will have to adjust. You and the drummer will give out the beat and the rhythm, and if you are not steady, then the song will never sound good.

3. Recording from Afar

If you are starting in music, you probably don’t know that it is actually possible for you to record a song in a studio, from home. Although it is harder to do remotely, tracks can be recorded, one after the other, in the studio no matter where you and they are, in the world. So, if you are given the right sheet of music, you could actually take part in the recording of an album with other musicians you have never met.
