What You Need to Know About the Global Gaming Expo Asia 2021

Published

on

The Global Gaming Expo is the gambling industry’s premium trade show, a joint venture organized by Reed Exhibitions and the American Gambling Association (AGA). The first is the world’s leading event organizer, whose shows attract over seven million participants per year, while the latter is the USA’s national trade group representing its casino industry.

These two organizations have worked side by side for two decades, and in 2021, their G2E Asia event will take place between August 17th and 19th at The Venetian Macao. It is one of the most prestigious events in a packed 2021 iGaming event calendar.

Brief Global Gaming Expo History

The inaugural Gaming Expo happened in early October 1–3, 2001, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. It drew a crowd of ten thousand attendees, 375 corporate exhibitors, and keynote speakers such as MGM Studios CEO Alex Yemenidjian and world-famous comedian/actress Whoopi Goldberg. The event’s inception stemmed from a contract dispute between the AGA and the WGCE (World Gaming Congress & Expo). These parties had a previous expo partnership.

In 2010, the event moved from the Las Vegas Convention Center to the Sands Expo, where it has remained. In 2006, Macau surpassed Vegas in annual revenues, and the Global Gaming Expo made an offer to the Australasian Gaming Machine Manufacturers Association to acquire the Asian Gaming Expo. They accepted, and the AGA rebranded the event as G2E Asia. It debuted in 2007 at Macau Tower and permanently moved to the Venetian Macao in 2019.

The 2020 Event Got Cancelled

On April 17th, G2E Asia issued a press release in which it stated that the expo would get postponed to early December 2020 due to growing health concerns associated with the ongoing pandemic.

However, in August of 2020, another announcement followed that made it clear that travel restrictions and the global health crisis have made the 2020 G2E an impossibility. Therefore, the chief operating officer of Reed Exhibitions China, Josephine Lee, maintained the best course of action is to postpone the event for the following year. That a shift of focus to 2021 would ensure that both attendees’ and exhibitors’ expectations will get met.

What Is On Tap For the 2021 Event

Though it is still a bit early to tell what the entire event will entail, expectations are that the expo floor will consist of twenty segments. Among these will be the usual Gaming Equipment, IT & Business Solutions, Security and Surveillance, Slot Machines, Sports Betting, and Video Gaming Machines. A new addition is the Smart IR segment, which will house exhibitors spanning AI and business intelligence fields. Esport Connect will act as a platform for networking within the international Esports value chain.

G2E Asia will also incorporate a privileges program, which will let attendees communicate directly with exhibitors. Benefits from this scheme include a welcome gift, an invitation to attend the opening ceremony, access to an exclusive lounge with high-speed Wi-Fi access, professional concierge service, and more. All senior-level decision-makers and essential buyers can be privileged members after getting verified by the organizing committee.

On-site expected events are Tech Talk, Gaming Regulators Networking Luncheon, Operators Cotai Connect, New Product Hot Hits, Segmented Industry Networking Events, and the G2E Asia before/after parties. Going by past experiences, only privileged members will attend the Operators Cotai Connect full-day guided tour.

Brief History on the Venetian Macao

The home of G2E Asia opened in 2007, modeled after its sister resort, The Venetian Las Vegas. It is the world’s second-largest hotel and the largest hotel building in Asia. The lead architects on the project were HKS and Aedas, who also designed its interiors. It is a 10,500,000-square-foot structure, with a convention space of 1,200,000-square-feet and a gaming floor that features over 3,400 slots and 800 table games. It has a 2,905-room hotel and an indoor arena with a seating capacity of 15,000.

G2E Asia to Hold Online Conference in May

In March, G2E Asia announced that they would hold an online conference and expo on May 25. There is not much info floating around about the pending event. According to Reed Exhibitions, the conference will explore exciting innovations that will usher in a new era in entertainment and gaming. Speakers who will be taking part in this digital event should get announced in the weeks leading up to it on the official G2E website. Expect long-form videos to get posted post-event on the G2E Asia YouTube channel.

To Wrap Up

Over 95% of Asian casino operators attend G2E Asia each year. It is an event of incredible importance to the continent’s gambling industry. After a year of absence, the 2021 expo is one of the most awaited ones in recent memory. It is a renowned marketplace and business hub for all Asian industry professionals to network and gain deeper insight into global trends.

How to Fight and Farm Al-Hezmin, the Hunter

Published

on

And get Hunter’s Exalted Orbs

Al-Hezmin is one of the Conquerors of the Atlas. He was part of Zana’s band of Exiles who once explored the maddening labyrinth. His expertise helped greatly in their exploration, as he seemed to never get lost. In the cartographer’s words, his desire to be the best at everything hollowed him out somehow. That’s where the ‘curse’ of the Atlas got to him. Now, he is a Conqueror of the Atlas, still bent on proving he’s the best hunter. He drops PoE currency such as the Hunter’s Exalted Orb.

How to Encounter Him

Once you get to a corner of the Atlas, you’ll start to encounter influenced maps. That means a Conqueror has arrived and you can find their Citadel. After completing an influenced map, you’ll see regions of the Atlas matching the color of the Conqueror. For Al-Hezmin, the color is green. An indicator of how far you’ve chased them also appears on your map.

When you’ve completely chased a Conqueror by running influenced maps, you can start to find their Citadel. Quest markers will appear on Zana and Kirac. Talk to Kirac to locate the Citadel, then Zana to open up the portals to it. Complete the map, and defeat the boss. A portal to the Conqueror will appear next to the boss’s dead body. You have 6 tries to do so, else the Conqueror will escape and you’ll have to start chasing them again.

Fighting Al-Hezmin

He’s the only Atlas boss who deals Chaos Damage. Fittingly, his triangular arena also has a pool in the middle of it. Make sure to pay attention to your positioning as depending on the current phase, it may or may not be beneficial to stand in it.

You’ll also have to dodge the attacks of the Wyverns and Vipers he summons. Mobility is key, though again watch out for the pool in the middle.

He has certain combos such as a stab combo that ends with a slam. There’s also his volley of poison projectiles when you’re far away, or his sweep then projectile combo. Watch him learn his tells so you can move appropriately. When he fires a giant wyvern, it also fills the pool with acid. Some vipers will spawn from the pool and Al-Hezmin will keep on running away from you. This is also the phase where you avoid stepping into the middle part of the arena.

Defend yourself with PoE items that give resistance to Chaos Damage. The PoE Unique Zahndethus’ Cassock can give 40-50% Chaos Resistance, for example. Of course, you can also craft one yourself, as there’s also your character’s build to factor in. Not every unique item can fit all kinds of builds, and only a handful of them gives Chaos Resistance anyway.

What Do Hunter’s Exalted Orbs Do Anyway?

These PoE orbs can add a unique Hunter’s affix (prefix: Hunter’s, suffix: of the Hunt) onto a rare PoE item. You cannot use it on PoE uniques. Though it only appears as either of those two indicated, it can have a variety of effects. It depends on what kind of Path of Exile item you used it on and how lucky you are at rolling.

Effects range from adding projectile piercing strength to adding elemental damage to attacks. There’s also the more normal +x% to Health or even add levels to socketed gems. The strength of these modifiers depends on the level of the Path of Exile item. Higher-leveled PoE items make PoE orbs roll a stronger effect. There’s a huge pool of useful effects to discover, and if you want to get the best results you’ll have to farm the boss.

Conclusions

That’s how you farm Al-Hezmin for his Hunter’s Exalted Orbs. Of course, you can also trade for them, but where’s the fun in that? Figuring out the best builds to use for this battle and actually fighting him can be so much fun. Then again, when you’ve done it so many times it can become really tedious. It is, after all, farming PoE currency, an incredibly repetitive and time-consuming activity.

At any rate, you can try fighting the other Conquerors for a break in farming. That way you can break the monotony and you won’t tire of farming too quickly. This is also the way to get the opportunity to fight Sirus, Awakener of Worlds. That is the final boss of the expansion, so gear up for a really difficult fight.

Keep on enjoying Path of Exile!

Path of Exile – How Trading Works

Published

on

In Path of Exile, the art of trading plays a huge part. This isn’t such a huge surprise, given that there are so many lucrative items within the game and the way in which PoE currency works makes the PoE trade system work very well. Despite this system being in place, the game itself doesn’t explain how it works all too well.

With that in mind, here are a few pointers to help get you started on how trading works in the popular ARPG.

About Chaos Orbs

There are a few different forms in which PoE currency represents itself in Path of Exile. You would normally be expecting to see the likes of gold or coins or something along those lines to be used in a game such as this, though this isn’t the case here. Path of Exile instead opts for Chaos Orbs, which are the closest thing you will get to how currency is represented, and the value is related to other PoE items that you find.

These PoE orbs are the most sought-after PoE currency in the game, due to the effect they have in which they randomize the modifiers of an item that you have found. They are a very rare find which means that they don’t suffer from the likes of inflation as other in-game currencies usually would, and they can eventually be used to make very powerful gear.

How PoE Trading Works

As for the trading mechanic itself, Path of Exile doesn’t provide you with an in-game method of performing trading. If you do want to be able to trade with other players, then you are going to have to get in touch with other players, before heading to a hideout to get started with the trade. You would need to keep an eye on the in-game chat in case someone mentions an item that you are looking for.

This is one of the downsides of manual trading. You are having to rely on keeping watch of the chat until the opportunity for the PoE item that you want presents itself. You will then have to hit the ‘whisper’ option so you can get their information and add it to the chat. You can then use this as a form of communication between you and the other player. To help aid this process, there is a resource website known as PoE Trade, so read on if you would like to know more about how you can trade a bit easier in Path of Exile.

PoE.Trade

So now you have a bit more of an idea of how PoE currency and trading works, you will want to know about the aspect of trading in terms of where it takes place. Again, as mentioned earlier, this is something that isn’t exactly made clear by the game itself. That being said, it does have a huge role to play in the community, and in this particular instance, it comes from a resource known as PoE Trade.

The PoE.Trade site is a tool that players can use to see which PoE items are being traded. You can also put-up items that you would like to offer as well as search for Path of Exile items you need. You can see how much the trade would be valued at and go from there. There are a lot of filters if you are looking for something specific too, so you can see what league the item is being offered within and much more.

With that being said, you should now take the time to take a look at the site itself and acclimatize yourself to it. Once you have a better idea of how the trading works and how the site operates, you can then start to look into taking trading more seriously. See how others have put up offers or even purchase an item that you have been looking for if necessary, to help you get your head around it.

One certainty in Path of Exile is that there is a fair amount for you to get your head around, especially where trading is concerned. Hopefully, you have a bit of a better idea of what you can expect from the likes of PoE trade and how PoE currency works so that you can make the most of it. Once you have gotten your head around the website itself, you should have no problems in getting comfortable with the ways of trading in Path of Exile.

OSRS Unusual Weapon Special Attacks

Published

on

The ignored but useful ones

While adventuring through Gielinor, you’ll find many things. One category of those things is weapons with Special Attacks. Those are sort of alternate uses of the weapon. It needs the Special Attack Gauge to be filled to a certain level to activate. While it doesn’t raise a weapon’s value drastically, it adds utility to the otherwise boring weapon. For comparison, the Twisted Bow doesn’t have a Special attack, but it’s priced at 1B OSRS GP. Then again, it is quite a rare drop, and the difficulty of the raid factors in that price.

Anyway, here are some unusual ignored but useful special attacks.

Ancient Mace – Favor of the War God

While the Ancient Mace is quite a weak weapon, its Special Attack shines. It can drain the target’s Prayer by 100% of the attack, meaning you get the same amount. This attack also lets your Prayer go over the limit, so you don’t have to worry about the extra points. As an added bonus, the attack goes ignores Protect from Melee Prayers. It’s great for regaining Prayer Points. Uses up 100% of the Special Attack bar.

Abyssal Bludgeon – Penance

Though having low Prayer Points is generally not recommended, the Abyssal Bludgeon can turn it into a boon. With its Special Attack, every lost point means a 0.5% increase in attack. Costs 50% of the bar to activate.

Seercull – Soulshot

For all PvP fanatics, the Seercull could be the biggest boon (if the user) or bane (if the target) on the battlefield. At the cost of 100% of the gauge, Soulshot will guarantee a hit that also lowers the target’s Magic level by the damage dealt. Enemy casting Ice Barrage? Soulshot shoots the attempt down. It only works once per target, so it loses effectiveness when fighting bosses. The damage can’t be increased by Ranged Prayers nor the Slayer Helmet.

Barrelchest Anchor – Sunder

This weapon is already amply accurate and strong, but its Special Attack makes it even more so. In exchange for 50% of the Special Attack gauge, Sunder increases accuracy and max damage by 10%. Then it also lowers the target’s Attack, Defense, Ranged, or Magic by 10% of the damage dealt. Only one will be lowered, decided randomly as long as the levels are higher than 1. Unlike Soulshot, the effects can stack.

Arclight/Darklight – Weaken

Continuing the trend of Special Attacks that weaken enemies, using these swords’ attack uses up 50% of the bar. It then lowers the Strength, Attack, and Defense of the target by 5% of their max level. The attack lowers it by 10% when facing demons. The effects proc when the weapon hits accurately, and it stacks as well.

Zamorak Godsword – Ice Cleave

Having the Zamorak Godsword is like knowing a single-target version of the Ice Barrage spell. While not as useful as other Godsword Special Attacks, being able to freeze enemies for 20 seconds can be useful in certain situations. That includes PvP and PvM situations. It costs half of the bar, and the attack must hit for the freezing effect to take hold. Good thing the attack also increases accuracy and max hit.

That’s Only a Taste

There are even more useful but ignored Special Attacks in OSRS. There’s the purely defensive Power of Death from the (Toxic) Staff of the Dead or Staff of Light. Then there’s the Crystal Halberd’s Sweep. Weapons with these kinds of attacks aren’t rare at all, so if you take the time to research, there’s bound to be one that’s quite useful but only for niche situations.

So go out and discover more Special Attacks! Weapons are everywhere, from quest rewards and monster drops to endless listings in the GE. For sure, you’ll need OSRS GP to hunt or buy it, so be sure to always stock up on it. Gielinor is filled with interesting stories and mysteries. All you have to do is to find them. Have fun exploring and adventuring in OSRS!

10 Things You Shouldn’t Do in Valorant

Published

on

Valorant is a popular free-to-play tactical-based, first-person shooter. Two teams of five square off against each other in various game modes. The main draw of Valorant, Competitive mode, pits the two teams against each other in a series of short rounds—up to 35—and the winning team is whoever nabs the most victories.

Valorant is often a slower-paced, methodical game that rewards cooperation, communication, and strategizing. Players choose from a pool of unique characters each equipped with their own special abilities. Each character has one ‘Ultimate-like’ ability that can often be the key to victory or a successful defensive stand.

As with all shooter games, Valorant does have a bit of a learning curve to it. Below are 10 things that you shouldn’t do while playing Valorant.

  1. Don’t Be Silent

Valorant, above all else, is a team-based game. Neglecting to communicate with your team could—and likely will—be detrimental to securing a victory. Clear communication and a mindful awareness of your surroundings are crucial elements. Calling out the location of a player on the opposing team not only alerts your teammates to the location but tells whoever is closest to be on their guard. Not plugging in your microphone, or keeping silent for the game, is a counter-productive action that essentially gives the other team a decisive advantage.

  • Don’t Panic Ult

Panic Ulting is when a player uses their Ultimate ability in the heat of battle during a non-advantageous time. Using Raze’s Showstopper on a single enemy early in the round seems like a sure-fire way to cripple the other team and give your team a one-up, but it could also severely hinder your team and lead to you being eliminated. Had you entered a shootout and won, you could’ve used Showstopper on a duo you later encountered or had you forfeited the first battle and regrouped, you might’ve been able to launch Showstopper on the enemy team as they made a break for the victory.

  • Don’t Shoot Before You Aim

Shooting before aiming is almost a guarantee that you’ll lose the skirmish. Getting down the sights quickly is key but taking a moment to aim at your opponent could be the key to victory. If both players just spray and pray, it’s a coin toss on who wins. But if you size your opponent up, and they negate doing the same to you, your chances of surviving that encounter are far greater.

  • Don’t Run into Open Space

Valorant is a game that relies on cover and strategy. Players often post up in advantageous spots and wait for players to make a mistake. Running out into the open all willy-nilly is that mistake. In Valorant, it’s best to assume that you’re never safe to be without cover. Always act as though an open space is a certified death sentence. If you run into the middle of the map without a teammate watching your back, just go ahead and consider yourself eliminated.

  • Don’t Always Go to the Same Spot Each Round

Becoming predictable is the easiest way for the enemy team to take you out at the start of the round. If you always go to the same spot, they’ll catch on and know to look for you. When you make that critical corner peek, they’ll be aiming down the sights waiting for you. Mix it up and take different control points to avoid becoming predictable and giving the opposing team an advantage.

  • Don’t Spend Your Credits Wildly

Managing your credits between rounds is crucial to winning. Don’t always load up on the best gun you can get. You need to save credits for armor and abilities. If your team gets snowballed in round one, considering holding off on buying anything in the round too. This is referred to as “Saving” and can help give your team an advantage in later rounds.

  • Don’t Carelessly Create Noise

Sound is a key element in Valorant. Players can hear you running, falling from a higher spot, reloading, shooting, and using abilities. Walking is silent, so it’s best to walk as much as possible. There are certainly times when running is necessary, like when rushing a point or escaping a spike, but knowing when to make noise and when not to is an important aspect of Valorant.

  • Don’t Reload too Often

In shooter games, most players are accustomed to reloading after every kill. This has become standard in games like Call of Duty, Halo, and Battlefield where it takes more shots to take down an enemy. But in Valorant, teams move together in pairs—and even 3-5 person units—so when you take down an enemy, it’s likely that another is waiting in the wings to counterattack you. If you get caught while reloading, it’s game over for you. Be mindful of your ammunition, and if you still have enough ammo left for another firefight, refrain from reloading until you’re sure that you won’t be ambushed.

  • Don’t Run and Gun

Unlike Apex, Overwatch, Warzone, and the like, running and gunning in Valorant is not a sound strategy. It can work, but it’s not reliable. Enemy players are often behind cover or set up in an advantageous spot waiting to get the drop on someone. Valorant isn’t Halo, you’re likely not running around a corner and taking out three people while jumping and dodging. The hitbox in Valorant is far too unforgiving for that.

  1. Don’t Just Run to the Spike

You have 45 seconds to defuse the Spike once it’s planted. There’s no need to run in without checking your surroundings and strategizing with your team about how to defuse it. If you’re not the only one left alive on your team, communicate and figure out the best approach.

There’s Help

Valorant is a game with a lot of depth and a lot to do. From ranked wins to Agent Contracts, the number of things to get done can seem overbearing. Don’t fret, services like Boosting Ground’s Valorant Boosting have top-notch professional gamers that can help players. Looking for that next tier on your Agent Contract? They can help you get it. The service is legal, safe, and secure. Their professional gamers are there to help you with whatever you need.
