You can also place the filters in a large bucket (preferably a steel bucket) with dishwasher liquid mixed water. Boil it for approximately 45 minutes. It removes grease and stains quickly and easily. You can wash the filters thoroughly with warm water and dry them before you place them back.

Caustic soda

If you’re not happy with any of the above methods, Caustic soda can be a great option. Caustic soda is an acidic ingredient that removes stains more effectively than any other. You should be careful and use gloves before you begin the cleaning process. It would be best if you did not touch caustic soda with your bare hands. Caustic soda can burn your skin.

Place the filters on a tray. Add some caustic soda to the filters. Then, heat water, and it would be best if you did not inhale the fumes. If you don’t have one, wear it. Allow it to sit for at least two hours. Then rinse the filters with water and dry them before you place them back.

Paint thinner

Paint thinners are a great option to clean greasy stains. You might not always have it at home. You can still use nail polish remover at home if you don’t have it.

Follow the manual book’s instructions to remove the filters from your chimney. Use a clean, dry cloth to soak in nail polish remover or paint thinner. You can use the cloth to clean the filters and exterior of the chimney.
