The term “effective leader” is used for the person passionate about leading, motivating, and influencing the team with courage. Someone who has a dream or vision to empower others can become a successful leader. We can say that leaders are the holders of values, inspiring the teammates to remain on the track without distraction. They are often referred to as planners or organizers as they ensure effective management. With the strength of interpersonal skills, they become confident to take responsibility for the whole team.   1. Not Giving Regular Feedback

Regular feedback makes employees aware of their mistakes, shortcomings, and region of improvement.

  1. Being too Casual

Sometimes leaders become very friendly with their subordinates in order to become more likable. This behavior may distort the line of discipline. Leaders need to set clear boundaries to maintain the value of their authority. They have to make tough decisions in different situations for which they need to be unbiased and impartial. Their emotional intelligence maintains the boundary. But it doesn’t mean to become extremely rude as it affects the engagement adversely. Ideal leaders know how to manage the team and keep the organization’s standard and value ahead.

  1. Perform Micromanagement

Micromanagement can be highly toxic for growth. The consequence of micromanagement includes low engagement, low productivity, reduced innovation and creativity, increased stress, and decrease in morale. Leaders should not dominate by imposing unnecessary restrictions in the name of discipline. Micromanagement should be avoided to sustain the integrity of the team.

To encourage the team, the leader tries to make every possible effort with newly developed strategies. The major mistake made by the leaders is underestimating the unique abilities of subordinates. They should be accessible and available for their teammates whenever they need support or discuss their problems. No one can be perfect all the time, being familiar and recognizing mistakes can help to avoid negative impact to the business and to the team as well.
