How to Efficiently Clean Home in Pandemic

Although cleanliness and hygiene have been our priority since the pandemic has changed our perception, we often find ourselves doubting about the things that came from the outside or whether the virus contaminates our surfaces at home.

Studies have shown that coronavirus can remain on the surface for a few hours or days. But do you need to wipe down every corner of your home obsessively by maid service Madison, WI? It is impossible to thoroughly clean your home every day without the help of a maid service. Now, it is a good idea to clean the high-touch surfaces at your home, but there is a more efficient way to clean your house in pandemics.

Know The Cleaning Equipment You Are Working With

Unlike before, you would call a maid service for deep cleaning; you have to do it yourself. At this point, it is crucial to know the cleaning equipment you are working with. You should go for cleaning equipment that is safe, effective, and user-friendly.

Some disinfectants use harsh chemicals or fumes, which poses a risk to your health. You should check the label on the cleaning equipment, ensure that it is registered with EPA. There are cleaning disinfectants listed under the EPA List N that can kill the concerned pathogens.

If you cannot find the disinfectants, you can make a homemade bleach disinfectant spray. Use the following things to create a homemade solution:

  • Household bleach
  • Water
  • Spray bottle

Bleach is exclusive cleaning equipment. You should not mix bleach with other cleaning materials.

Disinfect High Touch Surfaces

You do not have to clean your house from top to bottom each day. But, you should disinfect the high touch surface around your home. These are some of the high touch surfaces that you have to disinfect every day:

  • Door knobs or pulls
  • Faucets
  • Kitchen and bathroom counters
  • Toilet seat or toilet handle
  • Remote or game control
  • Light switch
  • Staircase rails
  • Cell phones, tablets, and other appliances you often touch

If possible, when you are disinfecting, wear disposable gloves. Aside from protecting yourself from the virus, disposable gloves protect your skin from detergent chemicals. Do not forget to open the windows or ventilation when doing laundry; the chemical fumes might harm you.

Disinfect Package Arrivals

Aside from cleaning the nooks of your home, you have to disinfect any food or snack. Although there is no current study on the corona transmitted through food packaging, there is nothing wrong with observing the standard for food safety. You can disinfect the food packaging or parcel with disinfecting wipes.

Do Not Forget to Wash Your Hands!

Although you have repeatedly cleaned and disinfected the corners of your home, do not forget to wash your hands. It is the best way to lower your risk of having the virus. CDC recommends washing your hands vigorously for 30 seconds.

Stay at Home

There’s a lot of things going, and there’s no uncertainty about tomorrow, that’s why it is best to stay at home.
