However, at the cost of this “high-end” web design, web design that relies heavily on Flash content often loads tremendously slowly. Often there is a progress bar that slowly traverses the web browser to indicate when the website will complete loading.
This is very similar to the familiar progress bar when using video editing or 3D rendering software, or when using the game console that appears while waiting for the game to load. Overall, Internet users don’t want to wait 3-5 minutes for a web page to load, even if it has high-resolution images, animations, or videos. They want a website that is fast and rich in informative content. If they want to watch animations and videos, they watch TV.
Don’t write down Flash in web design
Flash has its limitations, but there are some things you can use correctly. For example; Flash animations usually have a smaller file size than traditionally animated gifs, and that way the animations run more smoothly than animated gifs. That said, we recommend using Flash only in small areas of your site to complement the other images that make up the overall design. Finding the balance between minimal graphic elements, images, Flash, and high-quality informative text is the key to a successful user-friendly website. This does not mean that web design needs to be boring.
Visually stimulating web design
When a visitor first visits a website, they want to be impressed and involved in what the website offers. This depends on how your web designer laid out the content text, images, and features of your website. Placing elements such as images, text, graphics, flash, and video to keep your visitors interested in your website is the key to good web design. If your website is poorly designed and doesn’t attract the attention of your visitors in the first few seconds, it can be rejected as another average website. This ultimately means that the visitor goes elsewhere and spends time and, more importantly, money.
Of course, there are some pretty well-known exceptions to this rule. For example, one of the most well-known search engines has a completely different web design. The main focus and core features of their web design are in the middle of the page. However, this is not a regular website that displays dozens or hundreds of pages of products or services. The main focus is the recognizable logo and, of course, the search box.
However, at the top of the web design, there is a small minimal menu that runs from left to right. That’s why even they incorporate some of the research done on Internet user habits.
