Foods to avoid while trying to lose weight

Losing weight takes a lot of discipline and hardwork, especially when you are tempted to consume junk food to satisfy your cravings. Giving into food cravings can hamper your progress severely. It’s important to know what foods to avoid while going on a diet.  If you’re wondering how to get started on your summer diet, you can book a doctor appointment online with a dietitian who will give you a comprehensive Indian weight loss diet chart plan to help you get started. Here is a list of foods you must avoid as part of your weight loss journey:

1. Fruit snacks:

When you see fruity flavoured products like gummy bears and fruit cakes, don’t be deceived. These products do not have any real fruits in them whatsoever. They are artificial flavors and sweeteners that are added to give you a sugar rush. They are filled with harmful empty calories that lead to weight gain and also a lot of tooth decay. You must avoid these fruity snacks if you’re trying to lose weight.

2. French Fries:

French fries are extremely tasty, there’s no doubt but are you aware of how harmful they are to your body? A week’s worth of eating clean can be washed away if you decide to go on  french fries binge. They are loaded with unhealthy trans fats and calories that lead to a lot of weight gain. You can instead consume healthy boiled potatoes at home, which are nutritious and a good source of carbohydrates.

3. Cereals:

Most cereals are filled with a ridiculous amount of sugar, which is why they’re so sweet, and taste so good on the tongue. It’s important to avoid consuming sugary cereals if you’re trying to lose weight. As a general rule, opt for healthier options such as oats or muesli which are much healthier in comparison to chocolate and other flavored cereals.

4. Sodas and carbonated drinks:

Did you know that 300ml of cola contains nearly 30grams of sugar? That’s a very high amount of sugar, much much more than the daily recommended amount. Consuming colas can lead to type 2 diabetes and obesity, which leads to much more severe issues in the future. Even packaged fruit juices are bad and should be avoided.

5. Maggie and other packaged noodles:

If you like noodles, you can make healthy vegetable noodles with whole wheat noodles at home itself. Instant noodles come with a lot of sugar and MSG which are harmful to your body. Excess salt is just as bad as excess sugar. Both lead to weight gain and health problems.

Many of these foods also cause diarrhea. Knowing how to stop loose motions while consuming junk food is important too.

Stay away from these foods, stay healthy and watch how quickly you lose weight! 0
