CBD For Skin Conditions And Pain

First, let’s brush up on the CBD basics. CBD is a cannabinoid that doesn’t get you high as its distant cousin THC does. Second, our bodies already have an endocannabinoid system that responds to ingestible or topical CBD products to help establish or regain balance, called homeostasis.

CB1 and CB2 receptors in our immune and nervous systems respond to incoming CBD and they get busy helping reduce inflammation, which is often a major factor in pain.

CBD for eczema and psoriasis

CBD topicals for rash promote moisture and relieve dryness. It adds essentials vitamins and fatty acids to the skin that help promote elasticity and ward off infection. Using CBD for these conditions is especially beneficial and here’s why.

It’s an anti-inflammatory and an antimicrobial. Rashes are essentially an inflammation. Usually they present as red, scaly, itchy patches on skin or scalp. Because of its anti-inflammatory properties, CBD can relieve the intensity of the inflammation and soothe the itch. But it also interacts with the endocannabinoid system we all have in our bodies to promote healing.

Here’s what customers had to say:

I’ve used Lost Remedy topicals for years. This month, what I thought was a scrape appeared on my ankle. The dime-sized scrape turned into a silver dollar-sized rash. I started applying CBD for eczema and psoriasis two or three times a day and the rash is all but gone.”

“I used CBD for eczema and psoriasis … on the underside of my right wrist, extending about five inches toward my elbow. The rash was characterized by raised small red spots closely positioned together. I had the condition for three weeks prior and had used another product from another company with little results

I applied the CBD for eczema and psoriasis three times using a Q-tip with a small amount of the cream. I rubbed in the cream until there was no residue on the skin surface for three days.

After one day the skin condition visually had faded, and the itching had stopped. After day two more fading of the rash and no itching. On day three the rash was gone, and again, there was no itching. I continued the application on days four and five—concluding the application after the first and only application on day six.”

CBD for pain relief

You can also use CBD for pain relief to treat:

  • Chronic pain
  • Neuropathic pain
  • Cancer pain
  • Arthritis pain

CBD and chronic pain

Chronic pain has gone on for a period of time. It could be due to an old injury or a condition such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, or inflammatory/autoimmune conditions.

Although prescription medications are often recommended for chronic pain, they tend to come with side effects that people would rather avoid. Enter CBD for pain relief, which research has shown to reduce inflammation. Also, people who use it don’t build up a tolerance that requires larger and larger doses to relieve their symptoms, as is often the case with prescription or over-the-counter medications.

CBD neuropathy relief salve

The tingling, burning and other symptoms associated with neuropathy react well to CBD.  Neuropathic pain, as the name implies, involves the nervous system, often focusing in the hands and feet. CBD inhibits glutamate release, which can overly excite nerves to create these symptoms.

Rather than give you more science, I thought I’d let a Lost Remedy friend tell you about her experience with CBD neuropathy relief salve.

“I received your products for nerve pain and neuropathy two days ago. I have always used cannabis products (usually edibles and tinctures) for neuropathy from a spinal cord injury that put me in a wheelchair as a teen in 1986. I tried several big pharma products, but the benefits were not good enough to justify the side effects.

The pain is normally akin to dipping your leg in boiling oil while it’s being electrocuted. My pain is certainly not gone, but I don’t usually even touch the leg that has the issue. And, I can massage in your product.

The CBD neuropathy relief salve has brought pain down to something more like the beginning of mild pins and needles when your leg has been asleep. Essentially, up to 10/10 pain is now 3-4/10. Thank you.”
