As the world is suffering from coronavirus pandemic and due to which closure of theaters across the world, Films releasing om OTT platforms has become a quite convincing trend.AMAZON PRIME VIDEO IS ALL SET TO PREMIERE MANY UPCOMING BOLLYWOOD FILMS!
So now bollywood has also taken the authority to launch their movies directly onto digital platforms. The list of films releasing on Amazon prime video are:-
1. Gulabo sitaro
The Amitabh Bachchan and ayushman khurana starter which is directed by Sojit sircar (well known for directing piku, pink) .
The comedy drama film which was supposed to release earlier on November 2019 was shifted to April 28 2020 release and then again preponed it to release on 28 February. After many date issues it was slated for april 17, 2020 ( almost a month from now). Made under rising sun films and kino works the film will be releasing on Amazon prime video on June 12, 2020.
2. Shakuntala devi
The inspired story of a women who lived her life on her own terms and conqured the world through numbers. Shankuntala devi also known as “Human computer “.
The film stars national award winner Vidya Balan in lead along with Sanya Malhotra and is being produced under Sony pictures network and directed by Anu Menon.
As of now the offical release date hasn’t been revealed but The film will be releasing soon on Amazon prime video.
Director Anu Menon said :-
“I am so excited that the film will have its world premiere on Amazon Prime Video and everyone will get to experience Shakuntala’s incredible journey and Vidya’s magical portrayal of her soon!”
As Amazon prime video head Amit Agarwal said in a tweet on Friday said,
“First day, first show. We’re premiering 7 highly anticipated Indian movies of this year on Prime Video,” Mr Agarwal said in his tweet. The five other films are –
- Keerthy Suresh’s Penguin : which will be releasing on 19th of june, 2020 straight on Amazon prime video
- 2. Ponmagala Vadhal, starring Jyothika and produced by her husband Suriya is now releasing directly on Amazon prime video on 29th May, 2020.
3. Sufiyum Sujathayum
The film starting Aditi rao hydri and jayasurya in the leads, the film is being produced by actor Vijay babu & directed by Naranipuzha Shanavas. The film will release soon!
” This is the first malayalam film to bypass theatre release and to be released directly on digital platform ! “

4. French Biryani
The kanada film staring danish sait which is produced by ashwini puneeth rajkumar and gurudath talvar and directed by pannaga bharana; will be releasing on 24th July, 2020 on Amazon prime video
5. Law.
The kanada film stars ragini prajwal in lead and produced by ashwini puneeth rajkumar and m.govinda and directed by raghu samarth; will be releasing on 26th June, 2020 on Amazon prime video
